As recently announced by the Commissioner of the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles, R. Scott Waddell, Indiana drivers will now be able to view their driving records for freeĀ on an online database called myBMV.com.
The database will allow drivers to see any citations, violations, or suspensions that they may have on their records. This information previosly cost drivers $4 when viewing the record on the website or requesting a hard copy in the mail. Waddell stated that making the website free to drivers will allow more drivers to easily reinstate suspended licenses and understand the impact that a citation has on their driving record.
As one study found, over 340,000 drivers in Indiana have suspended licenses. Many of these suspensions have resulted from drivers driving without insurance or failure to pay tickets.
If you have had a suspended license or multiple traffic violations, you may need to purchase SR-22 insurance. To learn more about how to purchase cheap SR-22 insurance, please contact the Indianapolis SR-22 coverageĀ agents of Insure on the Spot at 1-888-972-SAVE.
